AUG 14TH :

Don Bradman's Last Walk

On this very day - August 14th, in 1948 when Sir Donald Bradman walked on to the crease at 'The Oval', needing just 4 runs to get to the Test Career Average of 100

- But Alas !! Tragedy strikes as Leg spinner Eric Hollies gets him Clean bowled for Duck in just his 2nd Ball of his innings
D Bradman b E Hollies 0 (2)

- He just didn't miss his 100 average, but also his 7000 Test Runs as he ended with career total of 6996 Runs at career average of 99.94

- Don Bradman never got to bat in the 2nd innings as Australia won the Test match by an innings and 149 runs
